1) The composition of the slag. For every 1% increase in iron oxide in the slag, the service life will be reduced by 18-20 times. The higher the mgo content in the slag, the lower the corrosion to the furnace lining. The greater the alkalinity in the slag, the greater the corrosion to the furnace lining.
2)The higher the tapping temperature, the lower the service life, generally above 1600°C, the service life will be doubled for every 50°C increase.
3)The longer the smelting time, the longer the blowing time, which will accelerate the corrosion of the furnace lining, and the service life is inversely proportional to the smelting time
4) Interval operation. The metallurgical furnace stops and the temperature drops. When the furnace is turned on, the temperature rises rapidly. This leads to strong thermal shocks, often leading to thermal stress, resulting in accelerated corrosion and cracks, and even peeling, which significantly reduces the service life of the furnace lining.
5)When adding molten iron and furnace charge, the furnace tilts and hits or scours, which will cause discontinuous damage to the furnace lining. Only timely repairs are required, otherwise the service life will be greatly reduced.
